My Budgie Dee is about 9-10 weeks old and today and yesterday he's been really moody, Rubbing his nose on perches, squawking and pouncing/biting my hands. Up until recently I thought we had really bonded but he's just been doing this and hanging around his cage more. Although he still comes to see me im worried about what this means for our relationship. :blue2:

Could just be feeling bratty, which all parrots do occasionally. Feeling his oats, expanding his horizons - training you! Best thing is to back off and come back later. If it keeps up, consider a CAV visit, but I would wait a bit for that.

Sure he is only 9-10 weeks old? At some point he is going to hit puberty and most parrots get bratty for an extended time, as the first rush of hormones flood their little baby bodies. Not sure about budgies, but small conures this happens anywhere from 6 months to a year old. Probably less for budgies.

The mantra for puberty? "This too shall pass".
