Green Cheek Conure (Name: Climber, he climbs everything :3)
Blue Cinnamon Conure (he looks like a kiwi, so his name is Kiwi :3)
Painted Conure (Name: Rainbow! :3)
So I have my three conures in my living room, Singapore is a place where it would be extremely easy to be able to hear car/motorcycle sounds no matter which floor we lived in.
Now, whenever the conures are disrupted by some sound, or a sudden movement within the middle of the night like a sudden faint light turning on or a sound goes off in the household, they tend to squeal.
Other than squealing, they make some sort of sound like a very soft scream about 5 times in a row in intervals. Is this a sign of fear or is this normal?

I don't cover mine, they are on the far side of the great room. They are quiet. Unless an emergency has me up and loud in the middle of tge night, then they flock call to me softly, and I softly tell them everything is ok.

Once they went nuts, and there was a man outside the window in the bush!! At 3am!!!I turned the outside light on he ran away...scary

The other time it was a mouse in the house climbing their cage..took care if that!

Some people cover the cage and have luck with that.
Some people use a smaller sleep cage in a bed room.

Do you think you have mice?

When Axel hears me get up he will make a kissing sound. And I just kiss back and all is good.

I live on the 7th floor, it's pretty hard to have mices lying around the house. However, they squeal whenever they feel threatened by sudden light or sounds when it's totally dark within the house.

Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
When I first got Syd he stayed in his cage but would not go to sleep. I covered him with a black cloth which almost covered his very large cage but he would peek at me where it didn't quite cover the bottom and still would not get his 12 hours. He was like a small child constantly calling for cuddles, a drink, or whatever to avoid sleep. In desperation I set up a much smaller cage in the spare bedroom, covering it with the same black cloth. Almost immediately he was happy. He now has his own routine and at 7.30pm he calls at me until I realise that it is his bedtime. He jumps on my shoulder as soon as I say bedtime and sings all the way to his sleep cage. Once there he waits for his piece of perch for the ride from shoulder to cage. He has a bedtime sunflower seed and a song from me, I cover him plus a blanket in this cold weather and I very rarely hear anything from him until just before 8am. Woe betide me if I deviate from his preferred routine.
I would never have believed 4 years ago, that I would find myself singing to a parrot at bedtime! Eccentric? Perhaps! Enslaved? Definitely!

Parrots have an innate hunker down instinct. The tropical jungle is loud as heck at night!! Lightning and thunderstorms crash. Parrots stay put, to do otherwise would end in death.

I live in Florida, lighting capital, hurricane. My parrots stay put and quiet.

They do have sleep tents, ( not fuzzy), as for my GCC and Quakers they use hollow trees year round, Quakers use their community apartment nest year round. It seems to provide mine with security , and comfort. Has nit bern associated with breeding behavior.

You can provide very screened retreat by hanging toys or something abd have perch behind that, usually high up in a corner. As no birds perch in the open to sleep. They roost in protected , camouflaged area.

So there is probably a feed back loop between you and yours. The behavior has become reinforced.

Oh and mice have zero problems making it to the 7th floor, they use walls , plumbing ect. Or you could have a gecko?
