a African grey
My african grey has a habit of squeaking when he hears a noise or when someone is in the kitchen or turns on the light in the kitchen٫does anyone know why my bird does this or how I can prevent him from doing it?

Parrot oil. Stops squeaking in most cases.

Kidding of course - don't apply any oil to your parrot. Greys love to imitate any sound that catches their fancy.

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
You could try rewarding a new noise whenever he makes it and that may eventually become his go to..I think I know the exact sound you are talking about...does it sound kind of like a loud beep?
If he really likes something particular, then associate the new sound with that new item or person or food when the sound occurs.

It may or may not help, but it could reduce it some.
