But if felt way to real. Hopefully it was not a premonition or an omen.

It is 5:30 and I just woke up from a dream. In the dream I was out with many friends lake side - fishing, camping, having a great time. With me I had a free flighted Cockatiel, (white). He was flying around camp and we were all enjoying his freedom when I spy a hawk up high. I call for my bird and he makes a couple of attempts to recall but is struck by the hawk. I come over to the point were he has fallen. A friend has him in cradled hands and is examining his mortal wounds that were very horrible in the dream. I take my friend up and have to endure his last few moments as he dies slowly. The feelings I had were very intense.

While pondering this nightmare I believe a number of experiences/concerns I had this weekend were manifested this morning in my dream. Many I had documented previously on this website. Late last week I came across an ad about a local missing free flighted parrot on Craigslist, see the Free Flight forum. I don't have a Cockatiel, never have, but I adopted an Eclectus last December and we have become very close. Chico is in the process of re-growing his flight feathers and I am conditioning him for flight (harnessed). Thursday the GF went off on me regarding my bird/companion, see Other Topics. The GF was out of town so we had a whole weekend of bonding. Saturday we had a close call with a cat. While sitting outside on a low wall with Chico enjoying the morning sun a neighbors cat had sneaked up from behind and was within a few feet of jumping my bird. I remember shuddering at the thought of what could have happened. Chico was harnessed and well within arms distance. Be careful out there. Cats are lethal hunters and birds especially fascinate them.

I have never had to experience lost as I had to this morning. I just hope Chico out survives me.
