I recently lost my winter white dwarf hamster, Riley, to old age. I'm sad, but I know she had a great life. In human years, she would have been about 150, so she was old for a dwarf hamster.
I still remember when we got her And her sister bailey. My sister picked them out, and when she asked for Riley, the woman selling to us was like "you want THAT one?" Riley was the runt of the litter.
I also remember when her cheek pouch impacted, so we spent $300 to fix it. Everyone thought we were crazy to do that for a dwarf hamster, but she was worth it. Then her sis had the same thing a week later. The vet gave us a discount and now, after all we had been through, I really will miss her.
