Yesterday Ginny our guinea pig died. She was old and it was expected, she was 4 1/2 years old which is a really good age for a guinea pig. But nevertheless it comes hard when they finally pass. Everyone here was so upset, but I think it hit hubby harder than anyone.
She would hear him come home from work and sit in the cage and squeak until he had gone up to her and given her a cuddle and some veggies. He would cuddle her even though he was allergic to her. He would just say that he was lucky that he just got runny nose and his eyes would stream, but it was never any worse than that, he would say that "She wouldn't understand if all of a sudden he stopped giving cuddles, and it wasn't her fault". She will be a real big loss in this household I can tell you.
