So, I joined this forum a wee ago, happy and excited to share stories, and get info on my beloved bird, Tangie. Bu i never got the chance....
When I first got her, the lady said her mate had died by getting attacked by her mini dogs. I was a first time bird owner, and could have checked her out better. I got her and her huge cage for 100$. I thought it was too good to be true. It was. I nver brang her to te vet because I was making plans for an appointment. She had diarria sometimes, and when she was super excited she wheezed. She shivered alot too, but I thought it was because she was nervous of us. Her cage also had tons of residue, months worth.

It took me awhile for her to trust me fully. The day before yesterday she came willingly out of her cage. I had a busy day today and left around nine in the morning. She seemed alright...better then wha she was. No more diarrhia, and no wheezing. My family came back to check on her, and in a matter of minutes, she was puking, and losing her balence, stumbling around. I hurried home, and, as soon as I arrived, she died. I told my dad to bury her.

I feel so bad that she suffered, and I wasn't there with her. I feel so guily and upset. I should have gone to the vet sooner. I loved my baby, even if I had her for only a few short weeks. I wish she could know I loved her more then her previous owner, and that I would have fixed her. Thewhole Rainbow Bridge doesn' mae me feel better, because I know there's no such thing...I had dreamed of having a bird, and to cherish it for it's long life. this isn't really a good memory of having a first bird...I miss her so much...

Rest. In. Peace. Beautiful Tangie<3:orange::(

I am so very sorry for your loss. :(

Please do not blame yourself. I am sure Tangie knew how much you loved her.

I can also see in your post that you are quite angry.

HUGS!!!

Thankyou so much...
I am, because the other lady didn't try her best, an it resulted in a ton of heartache for me, and poor Tangie's soul.

I have a green peach faced Lovebird and am looking for a Dutch Blue Lovebird.
I am SO very sorry! :`( My love bird Blue Baby died tragically on Friday and I am devastated. I'm praying that I'll soon be able to find one just like him. A dutch blue. I pray that you are able to love a bird to its fullest with no sorrows. May God comfort you.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm sure she knew that she was loved. Thank you for giving her a better home, even if it didn't last as long as you'd planned.

I have spent my life taking in birds from horrible situations and terrible guardians, as you have just done. Sometimes we get there a bit too late. I have lost some of these birds, for that very reason. Know that you tried to help this angel out of a bad spot, but, the damage was done before you got there. You made her last few weeks better than the rest of her life, and she would thank you, if she could. When you take on birds that are not in good health, the risk is that there is too much that cannot be fixed easily or quickly. At least she is not suffering anymore. Don't be too hard on yourself. You did the best you could, but, it was just too late. And, if not for you, she probably would have died sooner, in a horrible place, with an uncaring guardian.

So sorry for you loss. It sounds like you gave Tangie a good home for a few weeks. I'm sure she is smiling down on you thanking you for that. Sending hugs your way.
