Unhappy Muta - The Lightning Assassin. I miss him so much..

Muta was my special boy, my first Kakariki, and really, in many ways, my first bird. I bonded to him like I've never bonded with any other bird OR human in fact. I was closer to my Muta than I was with my husband or my own children.. That's how special he was and is... He was like my own son.

I hand-raised him since he was 3 weeks old, and his cage door was ALWAYS open, so he lived out with us and was involved in just about everything we did 24/7 (apart from when he slept in his cage at night)

He passed away at a very young age of 7 months.. and it's only been 10 months since his death. It feels life a life-age...

The whole house and my small family just aren't the same without him.. even my little 2 year old daughter knows who he was and misses him..

R.I.P. Muta - December 3rd 2012

I remember I was preparing to purchase a large cage with a billion toys and treats and all sorts for his Christmas present, as he'd never had a Christmas before, and he was such a big part of our little family, he HAD to be spoiled!

Oh darn it I'm crying again! I just miss him so much...

Re: Muta - The Lightning Assassin. I miss him so much..

Muta and his best friend Kioko, a female Jenday Conure I rescued - Muta assisted with taming her

Muta being hormonal and plotting to launch an ambush attack on me..

Muta and his nemesis, my old Ringneck Howl picking a a beak-tapping fight with each other for possession of my daughters Pillow-Pet.

Muta wanting to eat the scraps of the food I was preparing

His first trip outside to the park in his pretty pink harness

I have this up where my computer desk is, so I can always see him. We had him cremated.

"Muta"

"The Lightning Assassin"

My poor old Muta... That's all for the photos, don't worry.

you can tell that you loved him more than anything.
I am so sorry you lost him at such a young age.
Kaks are funny birds and they make you laugh, I use to have one, and I miss him too

He was gorgeous! It's amazing how much our fids become a part of our family and how loved they are. I know that you've had a rough day today. (((hugs)))

Mmm. Yeah Kakarikis are hilarious little morons of the bird world, but I love them so much! Awww.. do you have any photos of him?

The little moron that Muta was, hung upside down off his perch, and let go so hit his head (a loveable moron however), then chewed it and somehow made it fall down as well, and it lightly hit his head... months went by and he was fine so we didn't think too much of it. After he died Vets found out he had a cyst in his brain, and eventually it burst and gave the poor boy brain damage.

I never knew a bird so small could go through so much pain. He looked fluffy in his cage, and wouldn't respond to anything, so we rushed him to the Vets, on the way he started having severe seizures and spasms and the poor boy would just stare at me in a "Help me!!" type way. We got there.. he had to be put down.. so I spent 5 minutes saying my goodbyes, and he had another even worse seizure and his poor poor eyes.. they said so much. So I almost begged for the Vet to just hurry up and put him down.. I couldn't stand my precious Muta going through all that torture. I said one last goodbye, and the Vet carried him out of the room, but the instant I was no longer in Mutas sight, he died. :'( My precious boy hung on for me. *snuggles imaginary Muta*

Sorry.. I'm very emotional today..

It's so true.. *hugs* Gosh, this Vet.. she says there's no point in testing the otehr birds, because if it's a disease etc. there's no way to treat it so why bother.. and she thinks we should just get a necropsy done of Yuushi.. but he's been in the freezer since late yesterday afternoon... (10:30am right now) I really don't see how they could do much since it's been this long... >.> I think I'll call a different vet.. I didn't like her a whole lot..

It sounds like you loved him all up! Prolly loved him more in his 7 months than most get in a lifetime.
