Tequila was my little crested Society finch, and he had the sweetest song
There has been something so special about him since we first got him, and removed him from his filthy, tiny cage he was living in with 2 Zebras.
He was between 5 and 6, but I had hoped that by changing his diet and living arrangements for the better that we would have him longer than the year he was with us
My heart breaks today at his loss, but I am glad that we had him for the 11 months we had him, and that he had someone who mourns for him today.
I'll miss you, Tequila - fly free Baby Boy.

You know, I knew that my small guys would not have a chance at living nearly as long as the big ones should, and I knew that a lot of the small ones we got were not young. I thought I had prepared myself for that. I think I just forgot to prepare my heart.
And you are so right, no matter how big, or how small, they work their way right into your heart and leave a huge hole in it when they go.

Terry, I just saw this. I am so so sorry. But you have the right thought (and heart) - maybe you only had him 11 months, but I am sure he would never have traded that time for anything and even the tiniest little one deserves to have someone love them and miss them when they go.

I'm sorry for your loss No matter how small its never easy to lose one of these creatures that become part of our family. He had 11 months being spoiled by you that I'm sure he wouldn't have traded just like my mother said
