My little budgie, Cloud, passed away earlier today.
I came home after being gone just a couple of hours, did a head count to discover she was "missing".
I found her on the bottom of the cage. At that point she started to seize; after she recovered a bit from the seizure, I separated her into a smaller cage and called my vet. Based on what I was describing, they said she was having seizures and there wasn't really anything I could do other than to keep her warm, safe, and in a dark room.
I moved her into my office, cranked the heater on, and sat down with her cage on my desk.
From the time I found her to the time she passed (about 15 minutes altogether) she had five seizures...the fifth one she didn't come back from.
...tomorrow I'll be taking her to the vets for a necropsy so that we can (hopefully) find out what happened.
I'm so sorry my little Cloud... Fly free little girl...always loved, never forgotten. [emoji173]️
