We are heartbroken. Our blue throated macaw Armand passed this morning. It was a shock and developed quickly. He was about 2.5 years old and we do not know for certain what happened but it hit him very suddenly and without warning. I found him on the bottom of the cage this morning very lethargic. We gave him some water and a banana to help him feel better and he started to get better when he started going into seizures. We tried to take him to a vet immediately but we just moved to a new area and there are no vets that work on birds in our area. Needless to say we tried but no vet would see him. After the seizures Armand would have uncontrollable movements and would squawk uncontrollably. He was in so much pain and we could sense the end was near. He finally passed away. I watched that sweet bird take his last breath of air and he finally was at peace. Our little baby passed today. We are heartbroken and shocked at how fast this illness hit him.

I am so sorry. It must be so difficult for you to see him go through something like that.
At least he is not in pain anymore.
It so sad he lived such short life.

I am so very sorry for your loss. What a difficult day you have had. At least he is at peace. Nothing I say could possibly make you feel any better. Just know many hugs are being sent your way. Fly free over the rainbow bridge little Armand.

Thank you for you well wishes. I still can't believe he's gone. I still expect to walk in and hear him squawk at us and see him on his perch but he isn't there. Cherish the times you have with them, you never know.
