Over the weekend me and my wife went out to camp, Friday evening (around 6) till Sunday around 4pm. Saturday my wife returned home and fed our stunning little sun conure and played with him.. he ran around and played with her hair. Acted like his bubbly self. And Sunday when we returned... [emoji22] It's too quiet... and it's proving hard not to blame myself, why did I leave so long... He had a couple episodes in the past where he fell in his cage, and we picked him up as he layed there seemingly motionless, brought him to the vet as he slowly woke up and they told us "he most likely either slipped or stumbled and scared himself or its numerological as his diet seems ok, he's eating without issues and he's of a very healthy weight, if it happens again there's nothing we can really do." ..... I should have scoured the state looking for a better answer... I wish I did better... he'll always be loved... he was so trusting and loving.. from the day I brought him home he wanted out of his cage... he'd flitter around the house pestering mom as she did her daily tasks... climb under my chin and fall asleep...

You have my sincerest sympathy.
Try not to be too mad at yourself.
I have made some of the stupidest mistakes imaginable and just got lucky.
I hope someday soon you'll be able to open your hearts to another bird.
Rest in peace, Jimmy.

I have both lost a child and a feathered child! Both are pure horror! I am so sorry for your pain! It will take time to heal!

1) you did nothing wrong
2) have a necropsy done to find out what happened.
3) don't blame yourselves
4) work thru ur grief, don't shut it off, talk it out between the 2 of you

so sorry for the loss of jimmy. In no way is it your fault he passed, your wife was even with him saturday evening to make sure he was okay. If you feel up to it and feel it would help to at least know how then do get a necropsy done but take solace in the fact that he loved you
