Picaro (Nanday) RIP
I have been very quiet on the forums (and in the world) for the past few months.
My Paris passed away. She was in my arms, I stroked her head, told her 'I love you' and she was gone.
I won't go into the story of grief. We are all too familiar with it. It'll break my heart to tell it one more time.
Everyone whom visited my home or knew me, knew Paris, she was the bird strangers could touch without loosing a finger/eye.
When I announced on facebook she had passed so many shared in that grief and it made me realize that she had touched so many, even non bird people..

She was smart, friendly, beautiful, gentle, confident and regal.
I miss my queen Paris, always.

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
I'm so sorry. I hope that with time, you feel less emotionally raw...It sounds like things were very peaceful and that she was with the person she loved (which is all any of us can hope for when the end comes- be it human, or bird).
Thank you for sharing....cry all that you want! No judgement here...Those pictures are lovely.

I’m truly sorry for your loss Caroline. Paris could not have had a more loving carer than you - she definitely ended up in the right place.

“I will lend to you, a bird” God said, “and teach you all you have to do,
And when I call her back to Heaven you will know she loved you too.”

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
My deepest condolences for your loss of beautiful Paris. Only one who has similarly lost comprehends the bottomless grief. May her memories bring comfort.

There's just something about galahs, isn't there? They just seem to know Something about us humans that enables them to reach us in a way other birds don't. We lost our Dominic recently too and the gap he left is still big and tender. Even the bumptious Rosetta can't fill it (she's carving out a place all her own).

Wherever they are, I hope Dommie and Paris are together and laughing at us in the way only a galah can. Nothing takes away the pain of Loss, but do be glad that Paris came to your place and no one else's. You were lucky to enjoy her for the time she was with you and even luckier to have made precious memories with her.

Hooroo, Paris and Dommie. You were Good Birds! XX

I am so sorry for your loss of beautiful Paris. They are so small in size but take such huge pieces of our hearts with them when they cross that bridge.
Keeping you in my thoughts and sending my deepest condolences.

Thank you, each of you.
Your words of kindness and condolence are very comforting.

There is a big raw gaping ole that I'm trying to fill with memories..
She, after all, was my first rescue and we spent 15 years together.

The other birds just seem to know, I really feel they too may grieve in their own way, and the conures are being sweeter than usual (especially at this time of year).

So life goes on, the household seems quieter (despite Paris being the silent bird), but there's something missing and I know I won't be able to let that feeling go for a long time.

Thank you, I knew this community would understand in ways that non birdy friends just cannot comprehend.

I have been away from the forum for a few weeks (a family crisis), but I am so saddened by the loss of your beautiful girl. I may be a big, tough man, but I have to admit I'm in tears at the moment. I have been where you are, and it's so difficult to bear. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Fly free, little Paris, and know you are loved still.
