Fly free Cora

You will be missed.

I don't wanna tell the truth but I am. It was preventable but I made a horrible mistake.

I forgot to check and I closed the closet door on her. The door was open less than a minute.

Please don't take this wrong. I feel horrible and like I don't deserve fids but I am glad it was quick.

I buried her under the orange tree.

Please learn from my mistake and be more viligant.

Re: Fly free Cora

Everyone makes mistakes--- we all have shut doors around our parrots. It is easy to forget that things like this happen and it could have been any of us. Thank you for posting. You did what many of us have done. Do no blame yourself and thank you for sharing-- hard as it is to do so, by sharing, you have helped others. I am so sorry...

I’m so sorry for your loss Grace - I almost shut a door on Lilly the other day, she just moves so fast! Although no words can ease your pain and grief right now my thoughts are with you and your sweet Cora ❤️

Re: Fly free Cora

Oh wow! I am so sorry! I caught JoJo with a door once! He was trying to race out of the bedroom and the cats were out there! I swung the door, but put my hand on the jamb! He and the door met at the same time, fortunately, he wasn’t hurt! But the look he gave me, I will never forget!

Grace, thank you for your brave reminder. You have touched every last heart here.
Please heal and remember Cora lovingly when that orange tree looms. I will think it's her way of saying hello again. Bless you.

My deepest condolences for your loss of Cora. I am so sorry, Grace.

I have never quoted a bereavement post, but Gails is sublime.
