Damn it he deserved better. I woke up this morning to blood in his stool and him very weak. I went to give him his meds and he couldn't even stand on his own. We rushed him to the vet and he likely had an infection. With all of his other health issues we decided it was best to let him go. I hate that we couldn't save him. I hate that he had such a hard life. I hate that people buy animals that they can't take care of properly or even care to take care of properly. I just hate.

I am so sorry...

You did the right thing by getting him to the vet right away.
I hate those things too...
I hope things get easier in time.

Iā€™m so sorry for your loss of Bruce. But you did everything you could and you gave him a loving home and a shot at a better life that he otherwise would never have had. I know itā€™s hard and it sucks but please donā€™t hate, Bruce knew real love and care because of you!

Iā€™m so sorry for your loss of Bruce. But you did everything you could and you gave him a loving home and a shot at a better life that he otherwise would never have had. I know itā€™s hard and it sucks but please donā€™t hate, Bruce knew real love and care because of you!

Upon the loss of an Amazon, we accept another into our life. They are a very select group of Amazons best defined as yesterdays trash as they are commonly very sick, old to very old, and abused. They have no want to be around another Human.

From this deep hole, in combination with the support of our Avian Professional, we work hard to regain their health. All the while, we provide a blanket of Love that surrounds them.

We loose the health battle far too early and it always chews away at our hearts. It hurts and the pain of their loss overwhelms.

It is hard not to hate... But in their spirit, we choose not to hate. We rejoice in our providing them the single thing they needed the most, the comfort and knowledge of being Loved. When they crossed over, they proceeded knowing they had past in the hands of those who loved them deeply. Despite their pasting, each knew their last experience was a Loving one.

There is reason to hate those who should have cared far more, should have done far more, should have been more far more 'human.' But, that only steals from our Loving them.

Leave the hate behind, it only steals from your Love of Bruce. As odd as it may sound; Rejoice in being able to Love a very special spirit. A spirit that has secretly increased the Loving size of our Heart...

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You did all that you could for him, and he knew love in his time with you. And that must have meant the world to him, a comfort in his time of transition.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. You have such a big heart, and I guess that sometimes there's a price tag... big heartBREAK when things like this happen. You hang in there. Bruce left this life while loved and sheltered, and that's a great treasure for any living creature.

So sorry for your loss, I understand feeling helpless to help a fellow little bird. I had a cockatiel I loved and he loved me very much die in my arms, he was fine the day before then the next morning he was dying. The pain will slowly become happy memories of your little Bruce.
