Birdfair experience

I live in New York ,so this is the only one I know to go too . Its once a year and Im sooo excited !!! Dave comes with me so I don't bring a car load of birds home I like to stock up on toys and other things,They don't have a lot of birds there . But I make sure to check out each one Dave and I split up and hes always seems to find someone with a Too to hang out with . One of are members on here went to this fair too {Edgesoftwighlight]. We had been conversing about going . He had left a message about meeting up while we were there [but I didn't see it till I got home] I was telling him I ended up getting this very depressed looking African Ringneck . The guy said she wasn't tame and wasn't working as a breeder. This bird was so sad I have never seen anything like it.I knew I had to get her out of there. I was telling Chris , He asked what stand she was at . I said the guy had a M2 . He was like I know that stand their was this crazy guy who took the M2 out of the cage and put it on its shoulder. Im like LOL That crazy guy was My Dave . So it was funny we were both there at the same time Dave is crazy !! He has this thing with Toos . Who takes out a 13 year old male you just met and put him on your shoulder ? He did the same thing last year with another M2 . So Ava [the ringneck] . is home with me. Ive been taking her out of the cage with a soft blanket . Bringing her into the bathroom with me . I sit on the floor with her and she will stay there if Im still . I can tell she was handfed and someones pet at one time. The guy at the show [I think he was a flipper]. This bird stuff makes be realize how Crazy I would be if I lived in area that had rescues ,clubs ,fairs all the time.Heres Ava Dave and the M2 Max

Very sweet Ringneck!

Yeah that was a pretty small fair. I would have been in and out in 20 minutes if it wasn't for talking to the one vendor that makes/sells real wood toys and playstands. Ava is a beautiful bird! I was so tempted to get 2 myself. One was a parrotlet that looked all sad and lonely in a real tiny travel cage. The other was a Turquoisine that was 2 yrs old. I escaped the MBS symptoms and only came out with a playstand, training perch, and a toy. Should have bought more of those toys cause Cosmo really enjoyed it and tore it apart in a couple of days.

I swear, I'd require diapers before I'd plop a (strange) cockatoo on my shoulders. Dave must have appendages made of steel. :54:

Wendy - I know right I would not see myself doing that !! Hes a pretty big bird person too. That's how I can have so many he just doesn't want to live ,breath and talk about birds 24 \7 like I do . His "Birds " at home are The Ls2 , Eleanora 2 , Grey, male Ekkies and the Double yellow hd Zon. He has won over birds that are bonded to me .Hes relentless and taught me it can be done We have been doing this thing at night . We take as many as we can in the kitchen . We Hoot and hollar waving are arms getting them to flap their wings Crazy life

Ava does look sad but I'm sure now that she's with you and your flock, she will start cheering up soon! How many birds are you up to now? Your Dave certainly seems perfectly comfortable with that GIANT 'stranger' M2 on his shoulder Joe's a bit like that too, he doesn't fear birds (and they all seem to adore and listen to him).
