Parrots
Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Just playing the Devil s advocate here :

If it is a loving home, it shouldn't matter whether the bird is a Budgie or a Grey parrot or a Rosella right?

Have a loving home for african grey

Please, before I recommend you some adoption sites. Do you have any previous experiences with big birds like indian Ringneck s or any other birds? It’s because I see a lot of shelters with tons of African greys that were bought with the expectation of them being able to talk and being nice but then they got aggresive

Please think about this because it hurts my heart that a bunch of birds have to be taken back to the shelter because the opener didn’t have the time nor the experience to handle such a bird.

Plus, you said that you are looking for a bird that is cheap. African Greys are not meant to be cheap. They can go through a 40 dollar toy in just an hour! You are atleast looking to spend 1,500 for the bird and probably 700 for cage, supplies and even more for food

I don’t want you to get an African grey and take it back to the shelter, it can really mess with their intelligent minds if they have to be rehired a bunch of times

If you do feel like you are 100% sure you got the experience and you are you are willing to spend the time and money to get an African grey, then go ahead.

I’m sorry if this seems rude and if I got it all wrong and you have a macaw or something similar, then I’m sorry

Edit: Just read that you had a African grey, Just take this as a little reminder for any beginner. I’m sorry for not reading your full post

There is a group in Florida looking to re-home a wide cross-section of Parrots as a result of having to shutdown their facility.
