Hello, my dad (flboy) and I just rescued 4 adult lovebirds along with 2 offspring still in nest. Not sure age of babies but am wanting to start getting them used to being handled and training. How much handling and training am i able to do?? Their head tail is fully feathered. Back is bare and rest is filling in. Fully able to hold head up. Will try and post pictures if anyone is able to help with age. But new to training/taming so all help appreciated.

By this, I'd estimate the babies are close to 4 weeks old. I'd suggest getting a small kitchen scale and weigh them daily to make sure they're eating properly. So far they look okay, but you might need to supplement with hand feeding.

Make sure they're kept warm, clean out any soiled bedding in the nestbox and make sure there's about an inch or two worth on the bottom. I use aspen bedding, but some people use pine.

Make sure the parents are eating a good quality diet, with lots of sprouts and fresh food, I'm sure you're familiar with that! Just remember they're feeding the babies too.

I'd suggest a vet visit, though you didn't say anything about the situation they came from, practice "hospital clean" standards, washing your hands frequently and keeping them separate from where your conure goes.

I would probably yank the chicks to handfeed because the babies looks like they've been plucked. Have you guys ever handfed before? Hand feeding the chicks would help you bond to the chicks better. Either that or find someone local that can help. Short tip syringe or spoon feeding works.
