IRN parrot named Neo
Hi. I have a 4 week old IRN named Neo. Since taking him/her from the nest at 2 weeks old I noticed that something was not right with 1 leg. Neo has issues with the right leg and can not bring it forward as should be able to if it was normal, it is always facing to the rear and looks to be twisted. I can move the leg to the normal forward position and also turn his leg so the foot faces forward without any sign of causing Neo any pain but as soon as I let the leg go it goes straight back to facimg the rear. Neo cannot stand and is always laying down and I think it is starting to create issues with Neos wing that is always being layed on.... Can somebody shine some light on this problem? Is there anything I can do to help Neo feel more comftable in any way? Please help

I would take Neo to an avian vet, as hopefully this is something that can be corrected while he is still young.

Yes please take him I right away. It could be splayed leg due to genetics or to not enough bedding in the box. Splayed legs can be fixed sometimes if caught early enough. Regardless of what it is he needs the vet ASAP.
