Hello, ive recently removed my first parrotlet clutch into their own training cage they are 7 weeks old and there is 4 of them and as was my first clutch i left them with the parents and didnt overly interact with them as i was very cautious being my first clutch. Obviously from the youngsters being parent reared they are quite skittish. What is the next steps to helping tame them? this is a new world to me and im not overly sure where to begin as i dont want to cause the little guys and girls any stress but i want to begin taming and training they will be with me for the next month or so before i rehome them. Its older rescue larger parrots ive always worked with so babies are a new world for me. Ive had breeders tell me to clip their wings to help with taming personnally i disagree with that in my mind they are young so surely need to build up their flying strength. Please any advice regarding what the next step is will be very much appreciated. Is a new world for me so is very daunting 😂 many thanks. Sam & the feathery gang :)

Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
all the stuff I've seen regarding the first clip says to wait until they are 6 months old so their chest muscles and air sacks develop. A lot of breeders especially on our side of the pond are still on the "clip them to put them in their place" mentality

essentially just spend time with them talking and getting them used to you
