So I'm about 99.99999999% decided on getting myself a new bird, notably one of the Blue Throat Conures I was asking about/mentioning a while ago. I've been lurking on the page of the breeder I spoke to about them who seemed pretty honest at the time, noting they like nay birds have their noisy and naughty moments.

Well recently they uploaded some pictures on their page of the new building/cages they've constructed for the parent birds they have and I gotta say it looks impressive.

then today I happen to be just having a nose at the page and saw someone asking how the Pearly Conure they reserved is doing and the breeder said "Your pearly has been introduced to fruit and veg now so hopefully will be ready super soon". I couldn't be more happy right now! To find a UK breeder who weans onto fruit and veg is rare, it's always just basic seed to cut on costs. also I don't know if it's just me being hopeful but it sounds in that sentence like he abundance weans his birds, which if he does then I couldn't sing his praises any more!

Just need to let his Blue Throats get down to business and lay some eggs!

And, then comes the point where you walk-in and place your money down! Until that point, its just wishing and thinking and hoping and praying!

Best of luck! Just remember that the hardest part of dealing with a great Breeder is allowing them to do their thing and not pushing! Best of Luck with that Part! :D

So when will they do the whoopee? don't tell me you have to wait till spring for the egg, and then incubation, then 8-12 weeks of weening?

he said they normally lay eggs in November/December but due to the move they're a bit thrown off right now. If I wait till Spring I wait really

Very True boats, hence why I opted to just keep quiet and lurk. The breeder offered to let me know when they lay some eggs but I said I would rather wait so I don't start bugging him

Male blue budgie!
I think you and I are tied for the waiting game. I'm thinking spring. It's taking me so long because I've asked for a male GCC YS. Good luck! Hope it all works out well for you. :)

Gosh I only had to wait like a week or two after locating Bumble. I would probably die if I had to wait until spring!

I stumbled across Nigel and am so glad I did. When I placed my last foster grey Iago, my heart was so sad. I knew he had to go and was ready but I sure missed him. I waited and knew I'd find another grey at some point but everything came together quickly for me. Nigel's not a foster, he's mine til death us do part!

The overlord is making irritated noises now, where's popcorn? I must run!

Congrats on finding the breeder you have found! Hoping for the best.

Oh no more than Nigel, one bird is all for me. Although i always hold out the odd hope that I’d get another someday.
