African Grey clutch of three, do I remove the male?

I'm worried that the male might harm the eggs, the male enters the nest box and don't know if I should remove him and leave the female alone. Does anyone have any information regarding that.

More information is needed!

What is making you think the male is harming the eggs? Is he attacking the female? Or just going in the nestbox? Is he aggressive? How old are they? Last vet check? How long have they been paired and bonded? Have they laid/had babies before?

Lots to address here if you can reply with more info. Usually both parents help incubate and take care of eggs until hatch and both tend to the young but taking turns incubating and feeding young.

Not aggressive, to people or female. Has not harmed eggs. They’ve been paired and bonded for around 8 years and this is their first clutch. Visit to the vet was last year and everything was okay. I’ve seen him going inside the nest box with female, just don’t know if that’s normal or if they participate in nesting duties ect.

They are very healthy and non aggressive towards each other or humans. They are around 8 yrs old and have been bonded for the same time. The male has not been aggressive towards the eggs.
Is it normal for the male to go inside the nest box. I'm not a breeder and this is there first clutch.
Anyone with experience or where I can find information regarding AG nesting ect.

Please do not take this the wrong way, but it sounds to me like this is your crunch time. Read read read all you can on breeding birds, raising chicks, hand feeding, incubating, brooding, etc etc etc. Because from your question it seems to me like you have not done your homework yet for this project. Good luck, breeding is a wonderful experience, but it is a major challenge and reqyires specific knowledge.

Welcome to you and your Greys! Great advice above, so much depends on the instincts and personalities of the parents.

I had two separate clutches of baby Greys decades ago. In my experience the parents were superb, the babies needed no assistance until they were weaned and pulled for taming.

Yes, your absolutely right! It took me by surprise! This wasn’t a planned breeding of sorts. I’m going through all the emotions of first time dad! I have hand feeding experience with my first grey which is 16 yrs old, but not my bonding pair that laid these three wonderful eggs, I’m not even sure there fertile. So, yes I’m reading and reaching out for anyone who has experience with grey nesting, ect.. I’m not a breeder and they won’t be for sale since each of my daughters have claimed an egg, lol.

If this really 'took you by surprise', you wouldn't have already had a nestbox in the cage to stimulate breeding. You presented them with a nestbox from the sounds of it but you were 'totally surprised' about them having eggs? How long have they had the nest in the cage with them?

This doesn't seem to make sense. You gave them a box with bedding, admitted this took you by surprise and now you're asking extremely BASIC questions about nesting behavior. It may be better to pull the eggs and take the nestbox out if you don't know how to breed birds or what to expect. Just my opinion. Lack of experience will make you second guess everything, and it can be super heartbreaking to lose a chick when you don't know how to help them.
