3 days ago we got 2 baby Ringneck Parrots. They are very active. But 1 day after getting them I noticed that their feet be cold and their body would start shivering when I am around. At first I thought they were scared but when i am around they will jump out of there box to come on my hand and they don't want to get off. their body temperature is normal though? But their activeness just increases day by day. I am really worried about their feet. Why is this happening? Even the room is very warm.

They are like around 2 to 3 weeks old. Recently they stopped shivering, but their feet are cold. They like to cuddle and sleep together.

Today they went in the sun, and we turned the heater on. Their feet are warm and we are thinking to do that everyday. No we don't. the man we brought them from, told us to keep them in a room that was warm with no air and gave us this wooden box with Bura( very thin pieces of wood) for their feet. But since they started shivering and their feet were cold so i was worried. Right now they are sleeping. I have another concern, since they both are active, like to jump out of their box and do all sorts of acrobatics, Mithu( NAME OF THE PARROT) sometimes end up hitting Meenu(Name of 2nd parrot) in the eye. She opened them both but then shuts one eye and after some time starts to sleep. Why does she do this, closing one of her eye? Since it is strict lockdown here, finding an avian vet can be hard.

they NEED a heat source, babies that young cannot regulate their own body temperature. Hopefully SilverSage can poke in and give you some pointers. Can you get a ceramic heater for that room?

Yeap we switched it on yesterday. Today we moved them to a room where there is a large window with the sun facing them, so they were warm and around 4 we moved em to the room with the heater so. Know they are warm, stopped shivering and their feet are warm again! Thank you.
