Red Rump Parakeet
Thought I would introduce my male Red Rump Parakeet. He has beautiful colouring which is accentuated by when he is in flight. They are such a polite inquisitive bird which I have had success in breeding.
Hen is currently tending to two chick which hatched in the rafters of my aviary which I then moved to a nesting box after one fell (it survived!)

Hopefully more pics to follow.

Here is some more photos of my little bird family.
I am eagerly anticipating what coloring my hatchlings will develop as it looks like one will be blue.

The first photo is of the two 13 day old hatchlings. The lighter coloured one is the one which fell from the rafters, but as you can see they are now safe and sound in a nesting box.

The second photo is of the parents. Mum is grey & pale blue.

The third photo is the 11 month old daughter who is a brilliant aqua olour

What a story that is ... the egg falls from the rafters and you get a chick out of it ... I think that lucky birdie needs to be named Miracle or Lucky ... that's all there is too it.

What very pretty looking birds!
