I've seen with my lutinos -my young hen and her grandfather- that they are a LOT sweeter than my other birds, and it isn't because they get/got more attention.

The grandfather's name was Mellow for a reason! But his normal :grey: son isn't so sweet, and his pied :yellow1: daughter is again, but her pied cinnamon sibling isn't! While I gave them the same amount of attention... I'm pretty sure the exceptional sweetness comes with the mutation.

So I wonder, have any of you noticed this as well with your birds; that lutinos are naturally a lot sweeter than other mutations, or is it maybe just my bloodline?

Tango a White Faced Pied Cockatiel
I think it depends on the birds personality. I had a female lutino and she was the sweetest and cuddliest bird I have ever had. Very social and she loved attention. I adopted a white face pied back in April 2012 and he is very agreeable. Not to keen on scritches with my hand but he loves belly kisses and goes nuts when I take my nose and rub the back of his head.

it's anyones guess whether it's genetic or not. I've had 9 babies last year and 8 out of the nine were total hams, calm like mom, and smart like dad.

1 was a bit, well let's just say psychotic. All received the same amount of love and attention, but by far was the prettiest of them all, a beautiful cinnamon pearl.
mother is extremely calm, not tame,is a lutino, dad is a pied mutation, a real casinova, also tame, and very very smart.
all males have learned how to sing tunes(if your happy and you know it) by the age of 5 months, and talk up a storm, which dad does as well. I think it's definately a genetic link.

Cockatiels & Budgies
I've had 2 lutino cocatiels Chimps & Chip, since they were 3 weeks old and actually hand fed them baby food - Nestle Cerelac - through syringes. The relationship I have with them is wayyy above what I have with the other birds I got off the pet store.

The only difference I've seen is between the male cockatiels and female, the females are very friendly and cuddle and sit on me often, even the ones I got from the store. The males - well - the 3 month old who was born here is friendly BUT All the other males I got from the pet shop give me a SOLID bite if I hold them for any TLC and i give them a wide berth unless I'm wearing my oven mitts to hold them without getting bitten.

But yes, imo, lutinos and albinos are much more friendlier than regular birds of a species, based on my experiences with budgies, lovebirds and cockatiels over the past decade.
