I'm wondering if anyone else has a cockatiel that uses their feet to hold objects and food. Seems like it's a rare thing haha. Below are some pictures of Karson using her foot to hold things and a few extra ones :D

A Mitred Conure by the name of Conner owns me (Clyde) & my wife (Candi).
We had a Cockatiel named Charlie for l8yrs a few years back and I don't recall him ever picking anything up like that. Conner our Conure now on the other hand picks things up and manipulates things well all the while holding great balance. Conner has a really strong grip, just yesterday he put a heack of a grip on my finger. Funny thing is at times Conner acts like he has little confidence on his footing. Odd thing is I read an article somewhere a few days ago where the writer says birds have no hands, I beg to differ .

Thank you for posting more adorable photos! Love all the pics, but my favorite is Karson holding the straw. Your flock members are super cute characters.

Karson is extremely adorable!! :)

I kind of thought that Cockatiels didn't use their feet like hands.

How cute! I wonder if Karson is imitating your green cheek? I think Karson could snorkel in that bowl of water hehe :)

lol she might be imitating. If my greenie can do it then Karson can too.

My birds LOVE a good deep dish of water. They wade in it up to their chest. so funny.
always supervised though :)

That is the cutest thing with the straw! I've only ever been around one cockatiel for any length of time, but I never saw her pick up things with her feet. Karson is a little birdie Einstein! :p
