Think I'm in trouble

I have another thread open to see if I have boys or girls.
I got a big cage and then got a present of four budgies.
I had a male and a female.
The four new ones were bought from a breeder that said it didn't matter if boys and girls went in together so long as I didn't want to breed them.
Think they are fighting.
A lot of flapping about and head bobbing between pop and shadow.
I have photos in my album if anyone would look for me.
Tried to upload video???? Not seem to be working.

1. Males and females should NOT be housed together unless you WANT them to breed. It may not happen right away, but it will happen eventually. Birds can't be fixed, so when they become mature, they're going to do what nature intended and make budgie babies. I would suggest splitting your flock into an all male cage and all female cage.

2. Be sure the cages are large enough to house the number of budgies in each (remember, if you don't want baits, separate the genders!). Budgies are active birds and may well be playing. Also remember your original budgies just got 4 new residents in their home. It'll take a while for them to adjust.

Thank you for the answer. I don't know which are boys are which are girls. I'm doing my best with them.
Why do people give presents of birds to people???
Blooming nuisance... I don't want them fighting. Big cage. Nearly 5 foot high

The two other budgies were in a smaller cage and only moved into the bigger cage the day before the other four.
Will they kill each other fighting if they are some boys and girls?
Or will this only happen if I put in a nesting box?
I don't want to breed them.
Just don't want fighting.

I agree, birds should never be surprise gifts! Housing too many bird in too small if a space, not having enough food and water dishes, toys, perches, etc, can cause fighting no matter what genders. If you have genders together you WILL have fighting over mates unless you have an even number and all of them magically choose a mate that no one else wants, which can happen but shouldn't be counted on. Look at your birds. Above the beak is a fleshy part called a cere, which has nostrils in it. If it is brown it is a girl, if it is blue it is a boy, if is is pink, purple, or a mix, it is a baby too young too tell, basically. They will start showing about 4 months old.

Also, did you stick the old birds in with the new ones? Because that would cause fighting as well.

Does that cage have a divider in it? It looks as though its able to be divided so if you do have a female you might want to see of you can dive the cage or put her in the smaller cage
