My budgie is making good progress I think, and thanks to the people who gave advice, I haven't given him up. He accepts food from my hand easily and is getting better at target training. He won't go outside the cage and he still is scared of my hand (stays frozen) but for a bird that came from the pet store unhandles he is making good progress. I hope to believe that it is not impossible to tame him. I know every bird is different, but how did you guys tame your bird?

I got mine when they were only 5-6 weeks old - they were completely wild scared little monsters. :) The first thing I had to clip them in order to keep them away from ceiling fans. I just spent a lot of time with them - let them out of cage into the quarantine room and sat there with my computer, talked to them a lot, taught them to step up and offered treats. I took them to shower with me every day and put on the windowsill. I played hours of budgie chirping on youtube when I wasn't home. They've never really became attached to me very much because they are bonded with each other and my other birds, but they are pretty docile. It took me a while, and I think you are making good progress. There are some instructional videos on youtube which I watched - you might look into those too.

Cool! I'm working hard with my budgie too, almost whenever I have time. I looked at countless of video and sites on taming budgies and training them, it just doesn't end.
