Although they say Budgies can supposedly be talented talkers, I've never heard one (except on YouTube). However, Twigs now mimics one of Griffin's bird sounds! :)

I couldn't believe it... The first few times I heard it I thought nah, couldn't be! But it is definitely a NEW sound that I've never heard Twigs do until recently, and it's definitely NOT a natural Budgie sound.

Twigs will do a certain distinctive chirp that Griffin the Ruppell's parrot (Poicephalus) makes! :11: Griffin doesn't talk or mimic anything himself, but he does have the most adorable sounding peeps, squeaks, and chirps.

** One funny thing is that Raven and now Twigs must really look up to Griffin... Raven follows his lead with everything (pretty hilarious), Raven now tries out certain kinds of toys he was never into before he saw Griffin with them, even lets Griffin boss him around in his own home!! Come to think about it, I think I've even heard Raven imitate Griffin before too. Raven is such a wuss with Griffin lol! Geez, Griffin must be a pretty charismatic guy haha. Funny because he's the younger one.

He's like the cool young college dude that all the old guys want to hang out with -- recapture their youth!

Yay Twigs! I guess he figures that since he is now hanging out with the big guys that he better learn to talk like them:) Sounds like Griffin definitely has star power!

How cute! Sounds like Twigs is determined to be a social little thing:) Glad the big boys don't eat him. They must really be an adorable trio! Such vastly different sizes, but all buddies now. Sounds like Griffin is the glue that holds them together. I know Raven found him a bit of a pain at first, but now they sound like a little flock:D No chances of Robin joining them?

Lol haha the young college dude :D. Raven is 14 months old himself.

We're fortunate with that :) It's EXTREMELY UNUSUAL for any Poicephalus to want to make friends with other birds. It's just in their nature. They usually even hate other Poi's.
Actually, Griffin is the ONLY Poi I've ever heard of who is willing to befriend other birds. I think they either have to grow up with each other and not get separated, or be introduced when very young like Griffin was. Or, could be Griffin is just that way. He's the outgoing guy who strives to be the most popular haha.

So that being said, Robin being a Poi has always wanted to kill others. Although, he does seem to be mellowing in his older age. He won't actively chase others anymore, but he will lunge and snap if they're too close.

Raven doesn't like Twigs too close though. I think to him he's like a big bug lol.

You live in AZ right? I always wondered what those monsters ate, considering the vegetation is mostly dead grass 11 months out of the year:52: Some were big enough to put a saddle on! I bet you wish they were budgies:D

I'm pretty sure most of them just eat small children.
