help!!

so i got this yellowsided young conure a few weeks ago. he is biting a lot! and i thought things would go better. i keep on searching up ways to stop this rude behavior and find the best ones but none of them work!!

thats not the problem though!!

previously i owned 3 semi tame budgies, wouldnt come out of their cages but were so wonderful and loved me! they would chirp when i played piano. im crying now!! i felt horrible for giving them away and i watched in horror saying what have i done!! i was so blinded from videos on youtube with nice and cuddly conures, now the conure doesnt exactly love me and im stuck with it and im crying for the rehoming of my budgies. my parents would be mad if i asked for the budgies back and rehoming the conure (it was 300$) help!!!!!!

It's only three weeks (pretty much a few days when it comes to how long it might take to work), there is still plenty of time to correct his behavior. The key is to continue working with a method and sticking with it, changing it too much isn't that effective.

I know how you feel, youtube videos really warp our minds on what we want than what we actually get. I got budgies thinking I'd get the tamest and the most loving ones ever.

I was in a similar position with the passed lovebird, Izzy. I had to tell myself "I brought her home, she's my responsibility because I created a life for her and now I need to do whatever it takes to make sure we can both live together". Again, there is PLENTY of time to curve his behavior. there are some members here or on FB (can't remember) who had to work with an untamed parrot for over 5 years to reach to the point of them being able to just hold them and the results were worth it.

A conure's love is earned, it really takes time! He is terrified and confused! And being a conure, full speed ahead and attack!

You haven't had him that long. Give him time to get used to you. I know youtube vids of people cuddling with their mazing birds can higher your expectations but your bird CAN be like that, too. You have to work with him.
The fastest way to correct biting behavior is to use several methods such as twisting your finger when he's stepped up but another method is not to show weakness. Your bird's first impression of you is important! Good luck!

As it's been said, it has only been a few weeks. Make sure not to force yourself on him. It will take more time to earn his trust.

I wanted to say that I can relate about your budgies. I know that it hurts. I did that to my sweet, trustworthy Cockatiel. I rehomed him and got my Red Bellied Parrot. I hate to admit it, but it was long ago, before I was the "bird person" that I am today. It was over 20 years ago, though I was an adult so certainly old enough to know better. It STILL hurts me to think about it right now, even this many years later. Sorry, not to make you feel worse lol, but you say the budgies are with your parents now, so you can still see them at least?

im getting my budgies back now!!! im so happy i really didnt have much time for the conure but thanks!

So what happened to the conure?

I'm glad you get to reunite with you're budgies that you missed so much.
