Hey everyone! I haven't been on recently, I've been really busy.
I just got a new pair of budgies. It's kind of a complicated situation. I was messaging with someone and they said they were losing their home and needed someone to take their pair; Heather and Hans. I agreed and about 7:00 pm a big, noisy pickup parked in front of the house. This huge guy proceeded to unlock a bunch of cables from the back and pulled out a bird cage. At that point I was a little worried and confused. Turns out he was a really nice guy, but doing really bad with money. He lives in his truck with his wife.
I took in the birds and he left in a hurry. On examination, they didn't have any perches, just plastic necklaces tied in various places that said "beer is life!" I removed them and put in natural perches. Their cage is also falling apart so I had to throw it away and put them in my spare cage.
This is now the third day I've had them and they seem to be warming up to me. Heather is a beautiful green/blue ombre, and Hans is blue and white, with black on his head and neck. Their previous owner said they were a proven pair, and that Heather usually has 10 eggs in a clutch. From my experience, that's a lot. They are now bunking in the sunroom, next to Artemis. They can fly, so I avoid taking them out for fear they'll hit the windows or mirrors.
The whole experience was very confusing for me, if you have any tips, please let me know! :whiteblue::yellow2:

I have no tips other than they are lucky for a second chance at a good life. It was nice of you to open your home to them!
