Hi guys,
I have a friend who owns and breeds many parrots, he used to breed conures (patagonians, GCC etc).
Well, he bought a pair of Indian RIngnecks, a Turqouise split lutino male and a green split lutino and blue female. They are a proven pair and love each other.
Well, he wants them to breed when they are ready, but he also wants to tame them, if he was to clip their wings and try and tame them, would it affect their breeding?
Thanks

Absolutely! It is very difficult to keep breeder birds as pets, especially if they have been together for a while. IRN's breed very easily but one must be prepared for set backs and prepared to brood and handfeed babies if parents don't.

Hi,
Thanks for replying! :), well, he doesn't want to disturb them you see, he does want to tame them, but I guess it will slow down the breeding! I think I'll tell him to not do it, but if he wants to then he must be prepared for set backs :)
Thanks
