one of my male budgies has an overgrown beak, is it possible to trim it myself or a vet job? i'm used to cutting nails and my rabbits teeth, but i know beaks are sensitive. does anyone trim beaks and if so any tips?

Thats why I like t keep a lot of thingsthat will help them grind their beaks down naturally. Such as a cutle bone a mineral treat a few edible perches.

See siggie :)
There might be an underlying issue, they are usually worn down naturally with everyday activities. Take him to a vet. You can trim it, but you have to be careful not to do too much at a time else it will bleed and budgies bleed to death very quickly.
