Max just flew! He was 6 weeks old last Friday... He's very clumsy and I'm afraid he's going to get hurt.. Is there any way I can help him?

Congrats! Watching them learn is fun! :) Make sure he has a safe environment to learn in where he can't smash into something. When Alex started to fly I made sure he couldn't get up on the wardrobe/etc so he couldn't launch himself from such a height and get the momentum to really hurt himself. I also packed away anything and everything that could get in his way, just in case. :)

Congrats, I remember when my cockatiel first flew, he launched from my hand and landed on the door frame, turned his head, crest standing straight up, and whistled at me, all proud and happy. Then he gave me a resounding whistle of "um dad, how do I get off this door frame?" which I promptly went and got him down so he wouldn't hurt himself.

A small recommendation from personal experience, make sure all furniture is against the wall, last thing you want is your new flying baby to fall down behind something and get stuck or worse, injured.

Thanks... Max is practising every day, but mostly in the mornings... Today he has also been practising small flight from his T-stand to my arm and back...

I have a hard time to not rescue him from difficult situations (not dangerous), but I'm trying to prevent myself, so he can learn to think for himself... and it works.. I can see his little mind ticking over...

He is such a joy... I'm introducing him to new foods on a nearly daily basis (I have to make a spread sheet, so I can see, what's he tried, and what he liked)

I don't feed pellets... Pellets have been made by business people in the bird industry, solely for the purpose of making money.
