Max is normally in his cage, while I eat, but his cage is right next to me, so he's obviously checking out, what I'm doing... Mostly he just goes to one of his food stations and start eating as well...

Today he was out, while I had my lunch.. He had a chicken bone on my side table, which he demolished.. Then he came to check out my sandwich.. Had a nipple 3 times.. After I finished my sandwich, he went back on the side table and picked up a toothpick.. With the toothpick in his beak, he jumped down on the armrest, then to my leg, and continued up my body right to my mouth...

Well, I wasn't game enough to take it off him, but I appreciated his assistance... lolol

Surely he doesn't know that I need a toothpick after I've eaten??

Cute! I bet Puck would like to destroy a toothpick.

Do you usually use a toothpick after you eat? Or did you just have something stuck in your teeth? LOL

Yes, I come from a country, where toothpicks are in heavy use... They're always available in fast food restaurants, normal restaurant and all other places...

Yes, in fact if he watches you eat everyday and then use a toothpick, he probably did know you needed it.

Parrots are also capable of vicarious learning. That means they can learn new skills from watching people or other birds perform them.
