Maybe she is looking for food? My cockatoo would always try to steal food right out of my mouth, but in her defense, she liked to stuff food in there as well lol. Everyone used to get a kick out of watching her grab french fries off of my plate, hop up my chest and shove them into my mouth

My cockatiel does the same thing. Also, she tries to bite my lips. Could it be a feeding their mate thing? She likes to preen my beard, also.

maybe she is trying to give kisses? both my budgie and conure have preened my lips and put their beaks in my mouth and with the conure he like to french kiss. My dads macaw is very much the same way she loves to have her beak and tongue in human mouths

We MUST be careful letting our birds near our mouths! Human saliva is full of bacteria that is very toxic to our birds. Crop infections and digestive problems can result. Dry kisses are fine, but PLEASE be careful!

I had a cockatiel who would insist on taking food out of our mouths whenever she saw us chewing anything. She would also sample anything we were drinking. Lol.
Puck likes to kiss and nibble on lips. If I have dry skin on my lips, he wants to take it off, lol. I think he'd even clean my teeth if I let him...

Thank you i had read about that on here and was not something i was aware of until recently quite frankly i would rather not have my birds tongue in my mouth so i keep my lips closed to avoid that from happening although it does not stop them from trying. Unsuccessfully of course but if they had their way they would get right in there

One of my conures sometimes tried to stick her tongue in my mouth when giving kisses. I had to watch her for that. Yes, human saliva is allegedly the nastiest of all the animal kingdom, much as we don't want to hear that. A lot of birds want to feed their friends or mates, but I would discourage the bird from actually going into your mouth or taking food from it.
