They look ragged compared to my babies I've raised. They're younger and malnourished as well. Im gonna try to offer to take the pair again. Another baby died yesterday and we were getting them today. Something is just not right....these guys are so young I have to get up in the middle of the night to handfeed since I work during the day. Im dreading it already....lol....

I got their previous sibling the same way and she's fully grown now. She has a new home as soon as she is weaned.

I got the babies but I would like to take the pair back. She got the pair from me. I offered her with two baby boys so she wouldn't deal with babies ever again. She declined last time as she loves this pair.

I understand her loving them and all of that but frankly if they are just going to continue to have babies and those babies have to handed over because of this then maybe she should reconsider your offer. Just doesn't seem right. I am glad you are there for the babies, they obviously need you.

I need to sit her down and have a real good talk with her. I need to visit and find out why the babies kept dying. She's about a good 45min drive or so....

Bless you, Mikey! Those little babies are adorable. It's sad when people don't know what they're doing when they let their pets breed and cannot properly care for them.

Took a couple more pics just now after I got home to see them better. The older baby is about two weeks old while the younger one is no more then 8 days old. The older one is a Lutino whiteface(albino) while the younger one is a whiteface because the dawn feathers are white instead of yellow. They only have warm water for dinner tonight because they need to empty their crops that has seeds in it.

Forgot to mention, you can see the dry blood on the face and head of baby number 1, baby number 2 have dry blood on his head as well. When I talked to her earlier, she admit to me that she did not remove the father like I told her to last time. One of the parents is killing the youngsters. Which I think the mother is partially to be blamed as well cause we're sure the father killed two last time. But still, something isn't right...Plus their bodies have very little dawn feathers which I think the parents is pulling them off the babies....

I feel for ya , MikeyTN. From what little i've read , the parents must be handfeed ,tame. I have so much better luck with parent raised breeders. The tame ,handfeed breeders always seem to have some kind of issue.Good luck with those babies, looks like they need some TLC.(and a good diet) PS have you tried adding the cellulose enzymes , they help break down seed hull, nesting matterial etc in the crop.We use it often on crop blockage issues. Mix 1/2 capsule with 2oz pedialite , dropper several ml (depending on size), massage crop

There was no need as their crop was completely emptied this morning and received their first feeding. I have to say they did pretty good for being handfed for the very first time. I did not sleep good last night as I was afraid of them not gonna do well and time managing for the handfeeding schedule since one was so young....but I've got a schedule going on now...takes me a few days to get it adjusted.

Well, I sure hope their owner takes your advice and goes to a same sex pair so this doesn't keep happening.

OMG I can't bear to see those poor birds in that state
Their crops do look extra heavy due to the seed, shame that must be so uncomfortable for them.
Congrats on helping them..........

Yea I'm pretty exhausted...Good thing I'm off tonight, but I spent 2 hours to do cleaning on the cages. They're eating very good and growing nicely. Just 4 more days of extra feedings to go....
