Bob Surprised Me Today

Cricket - an American Budgie
Well right now the new birds are in quarantine. I was spending some time with them and Bob was in her cage. Bob started cat calling [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SF2SA6uRhKw"]cat call whistle sound effect - YouTube[/ame] (incase you don't know what that is).

I was not expecting her to do anything like that as everything I have read said that female cockatiels rarely whistle or mimic.

"Dixie"LSC2, and "Nico" Scarlet Macaw.
They rarely do! They'll make some noise, but not a lot. Are you sure Bob is a girl?

She has molted and my understanding was that male pearls lose their spots after the first molt.

Close to a year. I got her in early June last year at about 6 weeks old.

At 6 weeks in early June would make her almost a year old. So you would be right!
