I have a budgie and cockatiels. I am considering putting branches in their cages for perches. What kind of wood is safe and do you have to prepare it first (i.e wash?) Also, how do you attach it to your cage?

Yes you must wash it and let it sun dry. Some trees need the bark removed too

You can attach it many ways. Tie wraps, cutting slits in the end to fit in the bars, or if they are big by adding screws..or some kinda hardware. :)
