2 Cinnamon Cockatiels~Malteser and Twix ♥

Hey guys,
Well im new to this forum, so Im dani. Just thought i'd let you know
anyways, I've been looking at some birds to get (I don't have one as of present, but I did have a budgie, but he died). I was looking at some smaller birds rather than big, and I've been tossing up between a cockatiel, lovebird and a budgie. The only problem is, I'm looking for all of them hand-tamed...and Lovebirds are really hard to find hand-tamed. Im sort of weening off the budgie, because I wanted to try something new.

So, any sort of info would help me guys!
Thanks!

unless you're experienced with handicapped birds, I wouldn't get one with a handicap, they take a lot more work. I personally recommend a linnie (lineolated parakeet)

Squirrel-GCC (suspected male),
Alice- female cockatiel,
Beattle- male lineolated parakeet,
No name yet- female lineolated parakeet
Dingo- male American budgie,
Darwin- male English Budgie
Linnies are awesome, as are cockatiels. Lovebirds are very sweet, but they are a bit more of a feisty personality and can get a little wild if not handled regularly. Linnies are quite, deliberate in their movements and behavior, and can be cuddly. My linnie likes to snuggle under my hands, but not all do. Most like scritches though. They are very, very, cute. They don't slide back much in tameness if you can't handle them for a week for some reason.
Tiels are wonderful as well. Males can be loud, whistling and chirping all the time. They're spunky and outgoing. Females are quieter, usually only calling when their person leaves their sight, and if you don't run to them they learn to quiet up fast. They are quieter in personality as well. Females are not flashy and in your face like the males, but they have their own brand of spunk and can handle more then their shy demeanor suggests. Both sexes looooove scritches, but they're not cuddlers. Tiels have can have a reputation for being a bit beaky, and some of that is deserved and some of it isn't. If you teach them it's not allowed, then they're fine. If you reward their demanding beaking with scritches or other positive behavior, it gets much worse.

English budgies are bigger then normal budgies, and a little less active. They still have the budgie personality, but if you want something a little different then your standard American budgie, they would be a consideration. Mine loved scritches until he bonded more with my American budgie, but that's fine because I wanted them to.

Peach faced lovebird Basil
I (perhaps foolishly) purchased a lovebird that was not hand-tamed. His face was so sweet though that I couldn't help myself. My heart was set on a lovie. Even the avian vet questioned why I had bought him. Anyway, after 4 months (Basil was one year old when I got him), he is eager to come to me and sit on my shoulder. He doesn't like hands so I can't scritch his head unless the other hand is offering him treats...then he tolerates it. But he'll let me put my cheek on him when he's perched on my shoulder. And I don't need to lure him with treats to get on my arm out of the cage. I need to bribe him to get him back into the cage! And if he hops off me to explore (his wings are clipped), he always scuttles back to me to get back on my arm.

What can I say...I love the lovebirds!
