Now he is starting to develop some annoying habits, is there any way to like "discipline" him so to speak, he's really affectionate we love him to bits! But he starts biting our ears, fingers etc.. is there anything we can do to prevent this or to teach him that it is the wrong thing to do?!

Hard to resist but i had to show everyone him after a bath a few days ago!

when he bites, you could try saying no, and then placing him down next to you and just ignoring him for a few seconds.. but im not sure! im sure someone will give you advice shortly :)

Is he a red collar x swainson hybrid? I ask since the neck colors appear off. Whatever he is, he's gorgeous!

As far as the biting, it's better to redirect his attention and not get bit in the first place. Easier said than done, I realize, but it's better to try and prevent a behavior than allow it to occur and then try and *fix* the behavior by ignoring it.

Lorikeets are naturally very hyper birds to begin with who love to wrestle, and wrestling involves beaking and biting... if he's not flighted, then you may want to try and get him playing with a bunch of foot toys, hopping around and generally keeping him busy!

Also, try and learn to read his body language and don't put him in a situation that will result in a bite. Look into clicker training and positive reinforcement.

There's a lot of great trainers in the type of training I'm speaking of, but here's one in Australia and he seems to have the same ideas as the ones I'd recommend here in the states!
