My Parakeet won't eat out of my hand?

I've actually tried millet, but he still freaks out ):

What happens when you set the treat down? Does he eat it then?

First let him get used to you hand. My 2 parakeets were from petco, which means they were pretty skittish and scared. Just do one step at a time. First put your hand outside of the cage. Keep moving your hand closer and closer until the parakeet looks unsure or scared of the hand. Which means he will look like poised for flight . Stop , then every day 3-4 times keep your hand in that spot with millet. If the parakeet is comfortable with the hand in the cage , just leave seed and treats in the hand and wait. They will come
