I noticed just now, while looking at how Oz devastated the cuttlebone, that the cuttlebone holder had rust on it and that I could even see traces of it on the cuttlebone itself. I removed it from the cage for now and wanted to know if this is dangerous for my bird? I also saw, while looking around the internet, that someone pointed out that the edges are pretty sharp too and that a bird could potentially cut it's tongue on the holder.

What kind of holder should I get for him? I know there are some plastic ones at my local pet store but are those good?

I stopped using those metal ones long ago, yes rust is bad for your birds! Yes please do get the plastic one, they hold on the cuttle bone a lot easier then the metal ones anyways!!!! Here's the side view and the front view of the one I have.
