Well, my 4 1/2 year old budgie has always been good, and I've never been able to reward her with treats, only verbal praise. If i tried to give her a treat by putting it near her beak, she always drops it. What should i do?

Pepsi and sprite, both are American male budgies
Just hold there for her and she will eat it from her hand . It's hard for them to eat it with their feet so usually you have to hold it for her

Also, maybe try a smaller treat. I use a hulled sunflower seed, a pine nut, or a hulled pumpkin seed. Hold it between your fingers so the bird can see it. It will nibble it from your fingers. Or put it on your open flat palm, and let the bird take it.

Have you tried millet? And I don't mean millet seeds, but millet spray?
