It's a bit hard to tell from the photo because its dark, but I'm guessing female.

No and it's sad. On the Texas Bird Owners FB in this past week there's been 2 budgies and 1 lovebird found near where I live and no one wants to claim them. I think some people think since they are inexpensive they aren't worth caring for.
OH!! LOL! I didn't know you had the linnies- I thought it was just Sammy, Sidney, and Nameless lol
Oh jeese- that's so sad
I could not imagine letting any of my little feather butts go. They're inexpensive because they're over-bred and they're "easy to care for" *sigh* I could sit and watch them all day- they're hilarious! and incredibly smart for their tiny size!

I think that some people get them, and then when they don't want them anymore just turn them loose. It infuriates me. But thankfully she knew where to head to find a great home!

Along with the sennies and nameless we have 5 linnies and 5 zillion finches. I've lost count of how many finches my better half has.
I'm not opposed to getting it a friend, but I don't want more than two budgies so same sex would be ideal.
I forgot to mention we also have 4 dogs, two cats and one human teenager left in the house.

He/She is sure cute. Like Shirre said, budgies are hilarious to watch. They're so cute that they're funny. The little peeps and squeaks are cute too. Only thing that isn't cute is when they scream and go on and on especially with males.
Since it's so young (bars on the forehead) I think it's too early to tell. Dominant Pied color, so I believe it will get a cere color like a normal.
It's sad that no one looks for their lost budgies or lovebirds. People think they're disposable. "Oh well, let's just get a new one".
