See siggie :)
Today I decided my budgies were looking bored. They have no toys as I don't have a reliable place which stocks any. The pet shop is no good because I fear if I go in there I'm going to start yelling. I gave them a few gum branches which did keep them busy for a bit. Then I recalled reading something on another forum about foraging. I made little 'parcels', scruched up newspaper with seed inside, and a few 'logs', toilet roll thingys stuffed with leaf lettuce. At first none were interested. Until I put in some 'logs' which were open. Now everyone is happy, chewing away. Best forager award goes to........... Marigold. 2nd place to Chubba Chubs, 3rd to Lexi, 4th to Thimble and 5th to Skye, who didn't even try to open them. It was quite hilarious watching them, most of the food was dropped but they didn't care as long as they ripped it appart!:D
I tried to get pics but Marigold kept trying to eat the camera lens, lol.

Sounds like you've found an inexpensive gold mine there. In the wild, parrots spend so much time foraging that it's no wonder they enjoy in a "cage" bird environment.

As I said before, Max eats more food if he gets it from his foraging box than if it's out of his bowl.
