Gimli is my hand raised scarlet chested parakeet. He was hatched on the 18th Nov, is 41 days young and is a whopping 40g in weight. Today was his first day in training. So using a colourful chop stick and millet spray as the reward, we started target training. His first session lasted about 4 minutes. It took him/her a few minutes to get the idea but we got there in the end.
I would have gone a few minutes longer however he decided that flying across the room and landing in his favourite place in the house was more fun. His favourite place, on top of a picture of Marilyn Monroe. He then spent some time shoulder sitting before going back into his cage.
