I have 6 tiels, and 2 budgies, all boys. One of my budgies, who I got about 2 years ago, who was a rescue is behaving oddly. He is fairly young I believe, and I know he is currently hormonal, as he has been "romancing" one of his toys. I converted a large room into an aviary for my birds, and I sleep in there with them. The past four nights, Dory flies down when it is light out, and has been picking the skin on my arm, to the point of drawing blood. He has awakened me every time by doing this, and I have what must be at least a hundred little welts from this painful encounter. I always get up very early to tend to them all, so I don't think he is trying to wake me. He has not made any mating moves towards me as our birds sometimes do, and I am baffled by this behavior. He is in good health as well. I am going to start wearing long sleeves and a Cross around my neck! ha ha! any ideas on why he is doing this? Thank you very much! Amy:blue2:

Nope. I've never heard of such a behavior. Maybe you should start sleeping in another room.
