There is a massive clean out scheduled for today!! I also wanted to clear some things up. The breeding attempt did not go well, the other budgies managed to get through a tiny gap in the cage divider, attacked Marigold and smashed her eggs.

Her wounds looked VERY bad ( fatal ) while blood was everwhere, but now it is gone they look pretty minor, and are healing so well she should be able to go out today.

Thimble was the only budgie involved in attacking Marigold, she has a battle wound as well. Lexi was not involved.

Lexi has a gender issue. She is female, yet acts like a male. I caught her a few days ago trying to mount:eek: Chubba Chubs ( male ) and singing along with the males, as well as this, she is very laid back, most unlike female behaviour.

That pet store that was so rude about me trying to advise them about a sick budgie:mad:, well, guess what? I found the sick budgie out the back of their store, half dead in the middle of the road.
And, of course, I can't prove that they chucked him out the back. Here's Lucky, the sick budgie, a few days befor passing on.

His tail was pretty much brown and shrivalled up and he was so weak he couldn't even raise his head up. This was earlier in the year, but I somehow thought I'd already told you guys.

My budgies are close to maintaining a perfect weight ( Marigold has trouble ). I check them over for health problem 1-3 times per week. I check crops, tails, wings, ceres, vents, weights ect.
Can't be too careful:rolleyes:.

I have enough for another big cage for them but I'm hesitant to spend right now, because it is all I have for vet bills. I have about $220 right now.

I just had breakfast and my brother and dad are going out soon so I can get started on the clean out.

I set up a better hospital cage a day or two ago. It is great!! ( Marigold is in there )

Anyway, lots of pics on the way!!!:D

I can't believe a pet store would throw an animal out in the street like that. I might expect a humane killing (the pet store I worked at did this with fatally diseased tropical fish), but never a toss. That is so sad.

I know. If they had gotten it to a vet earlier it would have survived, it wasn't fatally diseased. Anyway, I am almost done chucking out the branches. I have taken off the plastic sheets and will clean them.

These "pet store horror stories", although terribly sad, never surprise me anymore. The fact that they don't surprise or shock me is the worst of it all....
