Thanks Terry. Hes doing okay..
Elsa gives out to him from time to time hee hee but he can do alot of things just as well as she can...I think shes jealous of his success

You'll have to get Mr. Biggles, Elsa, and Houdini all out and doing tricks . Like one big birdy circus! Elsa is jealous of Houdini haha!

I've never owned a 'keet, but at times like this, I think they may really be the cutest of all the parrots. Portable, so pretty, and smart as whips. I never knew how well they spoke until I was taught to listen carefully to their little buzzy words.

Ha ha Elsa is pretty bossy at times its like shes saying I was attaked once and its not going to happen again but I supervise playtime and only allow a little bickering and then they each go back to their own individual cages

Thanks they are actuslly up there with the African Grey as being among the top best talking parrots in the world. None of mine have spoken a word but then I dont repeat words and sentences over and over for them like you are supposed to do if you want to get them talking. I love budgies they are Great fun and they make wonderful companions too.

I definitely think Elsa is now saying it's not going to happen again! (getting picked on) and so she is bossing Houdini lol, he's taking it so well too .

Ha ha its Miss Elsa doing the bullying now and can Miss Elsa give that butter wouldnt melt look at him and then even kiss him and suddenly its a lovers tiff and poor Houdini gets knocked off his perch LoL

Thank you but its actually very easy to teach Budgies how to do a few simple tricks they are parrots that enjoy their play and take the job they do really seriously but what gets me is that unlike Mr Biggles who goes on a go slow when I turn off the peanut slivers (which I find really funny and cute and it makes me laugh every time)the Budgies do their tricks for no reward other than a head scratch at the end...they seem to want to please you and do whatever you would like them to do...they dont always do it perfectly but they will keep coming back wanting to try again. I love the budgies. Too many people class them as a suitable first time bird for people in college who dont have a whole lot of time and its so sad to think of so many budgies out there sitting in tiny cages with little or no stimulation apart from a few plastic toys if they are lucky or just getting a few mins a day out of cage and some dont even get that...they love being with their person and they respond with such devotion affection and understanding and they show a whole range of emotions too. Give a budgie attention and the stimulation it needs and its intelligence level is right up there with the level of intelligence to be found in much larger parrots.

Budgies are beyond amazing. Yes, often undervalued due to size and availability. They're all parrot, and due to long-standing domestication, SUCH sweet pets.

Where did you get the toys?

Mary... I remember when I was about 12 or 13,my mom <r.i.p.mom >
bought me a little "light blue" budgie for my birthday. Wally was my very first pet bird and I was devoted to him. Mom and I got him thru a "department" store..for $4.95 lol.
I had some knowledge of 'keets coz my Gramma had one,and I knew how to distinguish a male from a female,and I wanted a male.

It took no time at all to get him finger trained < I read all sorts of books on budgies and training> and he became the best buddy ever! He went to anyone..family and friends. He was flighted and I was simply amazed at his skills in flying down the hallways at super sonic speed,to land on the large mirror in the living room,and hang upside down while whistling and beaking the "other" budgie.

He talked well.. "Wally boy" "pretty Wally" <named him Wally,coz when he fluffed up,the feathers on his face reminded me of a walrus lol>

He'd "help" me with my homework..often jumping on my hand and fighting with the pen or pencil while I tried to write..he loved taking showers/baths under the kitchen sink faucet...or jump into my cereal bowl in the morning He rode on Moe's back < an indoor kitty > and Moe could not care less! He ate whatever we were eating..one time my oldest brother had made a sandwich,and it had a piece of burmuda onion <didn't know onions were not good for birdies at the time> and Tommy offered a bite of his sammich..Wally took a little taste of that onion..<burmuda onions are "hot"> and flew up to the curtain rod cussing out my brother like no tomorrow,rubbing his beaking on the curtain! obviously he didn't like it lol.

Yes budgies are awesome...kind of bossy lol...but very sweet and intelligent.
